Project Overview

What started as a renovation project quickly turned into an exciting discovery when our clients uncovered a beautiful hardwood walnut parquet floor hidden beneath existing floor coverings in their newly purchased property.

Initially, the homeowners were considering removing the floor entirely, believing it was beyond saving. After consulting with RH Wood Floors, we carried out a full assessment and explained the quality, value, and sustainability benefits of preserving the original parquet flooring.

Instead of replacing it, the clients chose to restore what turned out to be one of the property’s most valuable original features.

Sustainability Matters

Restoring existing hardwood flooring is often one of the most sustainable choices a homeowner can make. By preserving and refinishing original parquet floors, we reduce waste, avoid unnecessary material consumption, and extend the life of valuable natural resources.

This project is a perfect example of how restoration can outperform replacement both environmentally and financially.
